Beard Update and Brock!

Thursday night football games are not a good idea. I like watching them on television, but not a big fan of attending them.  Brandon Weeden played lights out last night and led the Cowboys to a come from behind victory. Weeden is 26 years old Sophomore from Edmond, Oklahoma. When Weeden graduated from high school he was drafted by the New York Yankees in the first round of the 2002 MLB draft. Brandon pitched 5 years in the MLB farm leagues until deciding to move back to Oklahoma and get a college degree. We all will probably be seeing Brandon Weeden a lot more come next year.

Whats happening this weekend areound the area? I know your all eager to here what you can enjoy this weekend before Thanksgiving break so listen up

  • Tonight in the Starlight Terrace of the Student union the SUAB is hosting a casino night. The event starts at 9:00 pm, and they will be giving away a PS3 and Nintendo DSi and more. Sounds like a great prize lineup to me.
  • “Sub Machine Presents” will be playing at Vault Video Saturday November 21st at 10pm. Never heard of them, but you should go check it out.

As you can see there isn’t much going on this weekend. So you could study, have a picnic, or lay around and watch television. I myself am going to go home for a day and just relax with the family, it should be pretty Bombay.

Hope everyone had a good week and have an even better weekend.

Happy Hallow’s Eve

Who is excited about this weekend? I sure as heck am. You know why? Because there is going to be tons to do around town, and I don’t want to miss any of it. So put on your Halloween costume and get ready for the fun and festivities that I am about to tell you about.

Vault Video will be hosting two concerts this weekend. The first is tonight starting at 10:00 PM featuring Spoonholster w/Lollipop Factory. Sounds like a group of food superheros. Tomorrow night, for those of you not attending the football game, Vault Video is bringing in Colourmusic w/Brotherbear & Gentleman Auction House. Also mister Daniel Pewewardy will be performing his stand up at Vault Video Halloween night too.

The SUAB is hosting a Halloween carnival in the Student Union Atrium from 6:00 – 8:00. I am a big fan of carnivals, and especially fall carnivals. I’m sure there will be many candied apples and chocolate treats for everyone to consume there.

The SUAB has also put together a Haunted House for everyone to enjoy. The Haunted House is going to be located in Kerr/Drummond from 6:00 to 10:00 tonight. I do not like scary things, so y’all can go experience this scary event by yourself.

Halloween night at the Boone Bowl, Oklahoma State will take on the Texas Longhorns. Kickoff is at 8:00 PM, so you have plenty of time to be a mischievous punk before the game.  The winner of the game will be leading the Big 12 south division and have a front row seat to the Big 12 title game quickly approaching. Let’s just hope OSU doesn’t blow a huge halftime lead like they have in the past.

So that’s all we have for you this week. Next week will be full of all sorts of surprises we promise. Keep coming back for more from your favorite blog ThrillwaterRunDeep. Play us off Keyboard cat!

Another Day, Another Fear

Well, Well, Well. It seems that I shall write about a fear of mine again. You are all probably wondering what this fear is. Is it a fear of clowns? Maybe it’s arachnophobia (not the movie). It could possibly be a fear of snakes (well technically I am). Sadly, it is neither of these things. Well now that I have you all entranced with what this is, I will simply tell you. I have a fear of birds. Especially ducks and geese. Just look at them. They’re always flying around, snooping on your business. For all we know they are robots sent over by Russia. OK, maybe they’re not but man they still make me feel a little awkward. Go ahead watch this. See if you think about them the same.

Here are some ducks that I do enjoy.

I hope that video inspires you. Go have a great weekend and remember, “DUCKS FLY TOGEHTER!”

Oklahoma State University Homecoming 2009 (The Game)

Homecoming here at Oklahoma State has been coined “America’s Greatest Homecoming Celebration” and for good reason. Throughout this week the university does a really good job of building anticipation up to the biggest of all Homecoming festivities, the game. Watching the houses meticulously weld rebar onto structural piping, library lawn decorations, and the orange crush filled fountain is all well and good, but those things are nothing unless you top it all off with a mammoth tussle on the gridiron between two blood thirsty football teams.

Here is a little fun fact for you.  Oklahoma State has not beat Missouri at home since 1992. For the math challenged that was 17 years ago.  Can you believe we haven’t beat Missouri at home in 17 years? That is disgusting and tomorrow we need to help change that. Be loud, obnoxious, and barbaric when it comes to cheering. I want the Boone Bowl fans to start acting as dysfunctional as Oakland Raiders fans (just for one game).

Raider Fan Raiders Fan Raiders Fan

Dysfunctional might be an understatement.
Before the game there are still Homecoming events going on. Don’t forget about Walkaround tonight, followed by Homecoming and Hoops in Gallagher Iba at 9. Tomorrow at 2 p.m. starting in downtown Thrillwater is the Sea of Orange parade featuring this years Grand Marshals Garth Brooks, Barry Sanders, and Robin Ventura.
The game starts at 8:15 at the Boone Bowl. Get there early because they are predicting a sellout crowd.
